Commercial Elliptical Price in BD

Opening a gym, or building a fitness centre for a hotel, office or apartment complex? An elliptical machine will almost certainly be on your cardio floor. But home machines and commercial machines are very different, and the wrong choice causes problems within a few months. Here’s how to choose the right one for a gym or business.

What’s the Real Difference Between Commercial and Home Machines?

The biggest difference is how many people use it, and for how many hours. A home machine is built for one or two users a day. A commercial machine is built to handle many users throughout the day. Commercial machines also typically have:

• A higher weight capacity (usually 150 kg or more)
• A sturdier frame and heavier components
• A smoother, more stable ride
• A build that lasts under frequent use

Putting a home machine in a gym usually means it wears out sooner, and warranty and service can become a headache too.

First, Decide How Many Machines and Which Kind

There’s no fixed rule, but in a small gym it’s common to start with one or two ellipticals and add more as membership and demand grow. Instead of spending the whole budget at once, see which machines your members use most and decide from there. It lowers your risk.

If your budget doesn’t stretch to fully commercial, there’s a middle option: semi-commercial machines (see below).

6 Questions to Ask Any Supplier Before You Buy

1. What’s the maximum user weight? Essential if some of your members are heavier.
2. How long is the warranty, and what does it cover? Ask separately about the frame, the resistance system and the monitor.
3. Where do I get spare parts? If a pedal or monitor fails, how long will it take?
4. Who does the installation? For commercial machines, professional setup is usually best.
5. What’s the stride length like? It should be comfortable for users of different heights.
6. What’s the after-sales service like? Who do you call, and how quickly will they respond?

Plan Your Space and Flooring

Plan your floor layout before the machines arrive. A good commercial exercise mat under heavy machines protects the floor, cuts noise and keeps the machine steady. Leave enough clear space around each machine for people to step on and off, and never block emergency exits.

An Elliptical Alone Doesn’t Make a Gym

A balanced gym has both a cardio area and a strength area. For cardio, look at motorised treadmills and spinning bikes. For strength, see multi gyms, exercise benches, the weight section and dumbbells. If you’re buying several machines together, ask us about pricing for the whole order.

Maintenance: Keeping Machines Running for Years

• Wipe sweat off after every use. Sweat can cause rust and wear
• Regularly check that screws, nuts and pedals are tight
• If you notice odd noise or wobble, report it to service right away
• Follow the manual for scheduled servicing
• Don’t allow use beyond the weight limit
